Forms & Strengths
- 10mg tablets
- 20mg tablets
Adult Dosing
- 1-2 tablets orally 3 times a day
- dose may be adjusted based on patient response
Pediatric Dosing
- 0.5-1mg/kg/day orally in 3 divided doses
- not recommended for children under 6 years old
Indications
- gastrointestinal disorders
- irritable bowel syndrome
- duodenal ulcers
Mechanism of Action
- anticholinergic and antispasmodic effects
- relaxation of smooth muscle in the gastrointestinal tract
Contraindications
- myasthenia gravis
- narrow-angle glaucoma
- obstructive uropathy

- dry mouth
- dizziness
- confusion
- constipation
- urinary retention

- alcohol
- other anticholinergics
- MAO inhibitors
- tricyclic antidepressants
