Forms & Strengths
- Oral: 100mg, 200mg capsules/tablets
- Ophthalmic: 2% solution
- Nasal: 2% solution
- Inhalation: 1mg, 5mg powder for inhalation
- Topical: 2%, 4% cream/ointment
Adult Dosing
- Allergic rhinitis: 2 sprays per nostril 2-4 times daily
- Allergic conjunctivitis: 1-2 drops 4-6 times daily
- Asthma: 20mg inhalation 4 times daily
- Oral: 200-400mg 4 times daily for irritable bowel syndrome
Pediatric Dosing
- Allergic rhinitis: 2 sprays per nostril 2-4 times daily (> 6 years)
- Allergic conjunctivitis: 1-2 drops 4-6 times daily (> 6 years)
- Asthma: 10-20mg inhalation 4 times daily (> 5 years)
- Oral: 100-200mg 4 times daily for irritable bowel syndrome (> 6 years)

Mechanism of Action
- Mast cell stabilizer
- Inhibits histamine release
- Prevents inflammatory mediator release
- Blocks chloride channels
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to cromoglicic acid
- Not recommended for acute asthma attacks

Drug Interactions
- Inhalation anesthetics: increased risk of bronchospasm
- Beta blockers: reduced efficacy of cromoglicic acid
