- Oral powder
- Capsules 500mg
Adult Dosing
- 1-2 capsules 3 times daily
- Powder: 1-2 teaspoons 3 times daily
Pediatric Dosing
- Not established for children under 12
- Children 12 and over: same as adult dose
Indications
- Constipation
- Diverticulitis
Mechanism of Action
- Bulk-forming laxative
- Increases water absorption
Contraindications
- Intestinal obstruction
- Undiagnosed abdominal pain
