- 30mg tablets
- 60mg tablets
- 75mg capsules
Adult Dosing
- 30mg once daily
- 60mg daily in 2 divided doses
- Maximum dose 120mg daily
Pediatric Dosing
- Not recommended for children under 12 years
- 12-18 years: 30mg once daily
Indications
- Short-term treatment of obesity
- Weight loss in conjunction with diet and exercise
Mechanism of Action
- Noradrenergic agonist
- Increases satiety and decreases appetite
- Stimulates lipolysis
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to clobenzorex or similar drugs
- Pulmonary hypertension
- Hyperthyroidism
- Glaucoma
- History of drug abuse
Adverse Reactions
- Dry mouth
- Insomnia
- Constipation
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Anxiety
- Elevated blood pressure
Drug Interactions
- Increases effects of MAOIs and other sympathomimetics
- Decreases effects of antihypertensives
- Concomitant use with SSRIs may increase risk of serotonin syndrome
