evogliptin
A10BH07
Adult Dosing
- Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: 5 mg orally once daily, taken with or without food.
Pediatric Dosing
- Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients (< 18 years) have not been established.
Indications
- Adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Mechanism of Action
- Selective inhibitor of dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4), slowing the inactivation of incretin hormones GLP-1 and GIP, increasing insulin synthesis and release, and decreasing glucagon secretion in a glucose-dependent manner.
Contraindications
- History of a serious hypersensitivity reaction to evogliptin (e.g., anaphylaxis, angioedema)
- Type 1 diabetes mellitus or diabetic ketoacidosis
Adverse Reactions
- Nasopharyngitis
- Hypoglycemia (especially when used with insulin or sulfonylureas)
- Upper respiratory tract infection
- Arthralgia
- Urinary tract infection
Drug Interactions
- Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors may alter exposure (use with caution)
- Insulin secretagogues (e.g., sulfonylureas) or insulin may increase the risk of hypoglycemia, requiring dose reduction of the secretagogue or insulin.
