Forms & Strengths
- 50mg tablets
- oral solution
Adult Dosing
- 50-200mg per day for 2-4 weeks
- dose adjustment based on response and tolerance
Pediatric Dosing
- not recommended for children under 12 years
- use with caution in adolescents due to potentialgrowth effects
Indications
- treatment of anemia
- hypogonadism
- osteoporosis
- weight gain after illness or injury

Contraindications
- prostate cancer
- male breast cancer
- liver dysfunction

Drug Interactions
- CYP3A4 inhibitors may increase oxymetholone levels
- anticoagulants may require dose adjustment
- oral hypoglycemics may require dose adjustment
