Adult Dosing
- Apply topically to bleeding site
- Use sufficient amount to cover bleeding area
Pediatric Dosing
- Same as adult dosing
- Use with caution in pediatric patients
Indications
- Control of bleeding from capillaries and small blood vessels
- Hemostasis in surgical procedures
Mechanism of Action
- Acts as a mechanical barrier to bleeding site
- Hemostatic effect through absorption of blood and formation of a stable clot
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to oxidized cellulose
- Infection at the site of application
