Forms & Strengths
- Solution for injection 150 mg/mL
- Single-dose prefilled syringe
Adult Dosing
- Recommended dose: 150 mg subcutaneously every 4 weeks
- Dose may be adjusted based on clinical response
Pediatric Dosing
- Safety and efficacy not established in pediatric patients
Indications
- Prevention of hereditary angioedema (HAE) attacks
- Treatment of acute HAE attacks
Mechanism of Action
- Inhibits activity of kallikrein, a key enzyme in the kinin generation pathway
- Prevents the formation of bradykinin, a potent vasodilator
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to garadacimab or any component of the formulation
Adverse Reactions
- Injection site reactions (e.g., pain, erythema, swelling)
- Upper respiratory tract infections
- Headache
- Hypersensitivity reactions (e.g., anaphylaxis, urticaria)
Drug Interactions
- No clinically significant interactions with other HAE therapies
- Concomitant use with androgens or attenuated androgens may increase risk of adverse reactions
