Forms & Strengths
- Injection: 5g/5ml, 10g/10ml
- Tablet: 1g, 3g, 5g
Adult Dosing
- Loading dose: 5-10g IV, followed by 1-3g IV every 2-3 minutes
- Maintenance dose: 1g IV every 2-3 minutes as needed
Pediatric Dosing
- No established pediatric dose, use with caution
Indications
- Acute hypotension
- Cardiogenic shock
- Severe coronary artery disease
Mechanism of Action
- Increases myocardial creatine phosphate and ATP levels
- Enhances myocardial contractility and relaxation
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to fosfocreatine or creatine
- Severe renal impairment
Adverse Reactions
- Hypersensitivity reactions (rash, urticaria, bronchospasm)
- Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
- Headache, dizziness
Drug Interactions
- Interacts with antihypertensive agents, may exacerbate hypotension
- Interacts with inotropic agents, may increase cardiac contractility
