Pulmonary arterial hypertension

Mechanism of Action

Endothelin receptor antagonist
Blocks endothelin-1 mediated vasoconstriction

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to sitaxentan
Severe hepatic impairment
Pregnancy
Concomitant use with cyclosporine A

Adverse Reactions

Headache
Peripheral edema
Nausea
Vomiting
Abdominal pain
Hepatic enzyme elevation

Drug Interactions

Cyclosporine A: increased risk of hepatotoxicity
Warfarin: potential for increased INR
