Forms & Strengths
- Oral capsules 100 mg
- Oral tablets 200 mg
Adult Dosing
- 200 mg to 300 mg daily administered in divided doses
- Max recommended daily dose: 400 mg
Pediatric Dosing
- Not recommended for pediatric use due to lack of established safety and efficacy data
Indications
- Peripheral vascular disease
- Cerebrovascular insufficiency associated with chronic cerebral ischemia
Mechanism of Action
- Acts as a calcium channel blocker
- Inhibits platelet aggregation and reduces blood viscosity
- Improves microcirculatory blood flow and cellular hypoxia tolerance
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to suloctidil
- Severe hepatic impairment or active liver disease
- History of drug-induced severe hepatotoxicity
Adverse Reactions
- Severe hepatotoxicity including drug-induced hepatitis
- Gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, dyspepsia, abdominal pain)
- Dizziness, headache, and sleep disturbances
Drug Interactions
- Potential for enhanced hepatotoxicity with other hepatotoxic drugs
- May potentiate the effects of antiplatelet agents and anticoagulants, increasing bleeding risk
