Forms & Strengths
- Tablets: 5mg, 10mg
- Injectable solution: 5mg/mL
Adult Dosing
- 5-10mg orally, 1-2 times daily
- 5mg IV, 1-2 times daily
Pediatric Dosing
- Not established, use with caution
Indications
- Severe peripheral vascular diseases
- Cerebrovascular disorders
- Raynaud's phenomenon
Mechanism of Action
- Increases blood flow, reduces platelet aggregation
- Antagonizes serotonin and histamine
- Direct vasodilatory effect
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to cetiedil
- Pheochromocytoma
- Severe hypotension
Adverse Reactions
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Tachycardia
- Gastrointestinal upset
- Allergic reactions
Drug Interactions
- Concomitant use with MAOIs, tricyclic antidepressants
- Enhanced hypotensive effect with beta blockers
- Interacts with other vasodilators
