Forms & Strengths
- Intravenous solution: 30mg/100ml
- Tablet: 20mg, 30mg, 40mg, 60mg, 80mg
Adult Dosing
- Initial dose: 30-60mg by slow IV injection
- Maintenance dose: 20-40mg PO tid
- Maximum dose: 120mg/day
Pediatric Dosing
- Safety and efficacy not established in pediatric patients
- Use with caution in patients under 18 years
Indications
- Treatment of cerebral vasospasm
- Treatment of acute ischemic stroke
- Raynaud's phenomenon
- Pulmonary hypertension
Mechanism of Action
- Inhibits rho-kinase enzyme
- Increases myosin light chain phosphatase activity
- Induces vasodilation
- Inhibits smooth muscle proliferation
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to fasudil
- Pregnancy and lactation
- Severe hypotension
Adverse Reactions
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Hypotension
Drug Interactions
- Concomitant use with other vasodilators may increase risk of hypotension
- Concomitant use with antihypertensive agents may increase risk of hypotension
- Monitor INR when used with warfarin
