Forms & Strengths
- Injectable solution 100 mg/mL
- Injectable solution 200 mg/mL
Adult Dosing
- 500-1000 mg IV or IM, 2-3 times a day
- Dose may be adjusted according to patient response
Pediatric Dosing
- Not established for children under 12 years
- For children 12 years and older, use adult dosing
Indications
- Treatment of peripheral circulatory disorders
- Treatment of cerebral circulatory disorders
- Treatment of vascular headaches
Mechanism of Action
- Increases peripheral blood flow by vasodilation
- Reduces blood viscosity
- Improves microcirculation
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to sodium apolate or any excipients
- Active peptic ulcer
- Severe hypotension
Adverse Reactions
- Gastrointestinal disturbances
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Hypotension
- Allergic reactions
Drug Interactions
- Concomitant use with antihypertensive drugs may potentiate hypotensive effect
- Concomitant use with anticoagulant drugs may increase risk of bleeding
