Forms & Strengths
- Tablet: perindopril 2mg + indapamide 0.625mg
- Tablet: perindopril 4mg + indapamide 1.25mg
- Tablet: perindopril 8mg + indapamide 2.5mg
Adult Dosing
- Hypertension: 1 tablet (perindopril 2-8mg + indapamide 0.625-2.5mg) daily
- Heart failure: 1 tablet (perindopril 2-4mg + indapamide 0.625-1.25mg) daily
Pediatric Dosing
- Not recommended for children under 18 years
- Dosing for pediatric patients has not been established
Indications
- Treatment of essential hypertension
- Treatment of symptomatic heart failure
Mechanism of Action
- Perindopril: ACE inhibition, reducing angiotensin II and aldosterone levels
- Indapamide: mild diuretic effect, increasing sodium and water excretion
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to perindopril or indapamide
- Pregnancy and lactation
- Bilateral renal artery stenosis or unilateral stenosis in a solitary kidney
- Hyperkalemia
Adverse Reactions
- Cough
- Dizziness
- Headache
- Hypotension
- Increased creatinine levels
- Hyperkalemia
Drug Interactions
- Potassium-sparing diuretics: increased risk of hyperkalemia
- Lithium: increased risk of lithium toxicity
- Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs): decreased antihypertensive effect
- Allopurinol: increased risk of hypersensitivity reactions
