Adult Dosing
- Tinea pedis: Apply to affected area once daily for 1 week
- Tinea cruris: Apply to affected area once daily for 1 week
- Tinea corporis: Apply to affected area once daily for 1 week
Pediatric Dosing
- Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients not well established; use with caution
Indications
- Topical treatment of tinea pedis caused by Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Epidermophyton floccosum
- Topical treatment of tinea cruris caused by Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Epidermophyton floccosum
- Topical treatment of tinea corporis caused by Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Epidermophyton floccosum
Mechanism of Action
- Azole antifungal agent that inhibits fungal cytochrome P450-dependent 14 alpha-demethylase
- Decreases ergosterol synthesis, disrupting fungal cell membrane integrity and inhibiting fungal growth
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to lanoconazole or any component of the formulation
- History of hypersensitivity to other azole antifungals
Adverse Reactions
- Application site irritation
- Pruritus
- Erythema
- Contact dermatitis
Drug Interactions
- No significant systemic drug interactions expected due to minimal percutaneous absorption with topical application
