Forms & Strengths

Adult Dosing

Mechanism of Action

Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to parabens or alkyl hydroxybenzoates
- Application to severely broken or denuded skin where systemic absorption is significantly increased
Adverse Reactions
- Allergic contact dermatitis
- Local skin irritation, erythema, or burning sensation
- Contact urticaria in sensitized individuals
Drug Interactions
- May decrease the antimicrobial efficacy of non-ionic surfactants via micellar binding
- Potential cross-reactivity with other paraben derivatives (methyl-, propyl-, butylparaben)
