- 91% solution
- rectal suppositories
Adult Dosing
- apply topically to affected area 1-2 times daily
- rectal use: 1 suppository PR as needed
Pediatric Dosing
- apply topically to affected area 1-2 times daily, or as directed
- avoid rectal use in children under 12
Indications
- relieving local pain and itching
- skin irritation
- pruritus ani
Mechanism of Action
- analgesic and antipruritic effects due to local anesthetic properties
Contraindications
- allergy to isopropanol
- denuded or broken skin
Adverse Reactions
- skin irritation
- allergic contact dermatitis
- rectal irritation or burning
Drug Interactions
- avoid concurrent use with other topical anesthetics
