Adult Dosing
- Apply a thin layer to affected areas of the face and/or trunk once daily in the evening, on clean and dry skin.
Pediatric Dosing
- Children 9 years and older: Apply a thin layer to affected areas of the face and/or trunk once daily in the evening.
- Children under 9 years: Safety and efficacy have not been established.
Indications
- Topical treatment of acne vulgaris of the face and/or trunk in patients 9 years of age and older.
Mechanism of Action
- Selective agonist of retinoic acid receptor (RAR) gamma, modulating gene expression to reduce comedogenesis and inflammation.
Contraindications
- Pregnancy
- Hypersensitivity to trifarotene or any of its formulation components
Adverse Reactions
- Application site irritation
- Application site pruritus
- Application site sunburn
- Erythema
- Dry skin
Drug Interactions
- Other potentially irritating topical products (e.g., medicated or abrasive soaps, cleansers, cosmetics with strong drying effects)
- Concomitant topical products with a high rate of irritation should be used with caution.
