Forms & Strengths
- Cream 3%
- Gel 3%
- Topical formulation
Adult Dosing
- Apply a thin layer to affected skin areas once daily
- Maximum 8 weeks of treatment
Pediatric Dosing
- Safety and efficacy not established in patients under 12 years
- Use with caution in adolescents
Indications
- Mild to moderate plaque psoriasis
- Symptomatic relief of seborrheic dermatitis
- Treatment of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma
Mechanism of Action
- Inhibits activation of T-lymphocytes
- Modulates expression of inflammatory cytokines
- Antiproliferative effects on keratinocytes
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to ichthammol or any component
- Open or infected skin wounds
Adverse Reactions
- Skin irritation (burning, stinging, redness)
- Allergic contact dermatitis
- Dryness, pruritus
Drug Interactions
- None reported, but caution with concomitant medications affecting skin
