Forms & Strengths
- Testosterone cypionate 50mg + Estradiol cypionate 2mg/mL
- Testosterone enanthate 50mg + Estradiol valerate 2mg/mL
- Testosterone undecanoate 50mg + Estradiol undecanoate 2mg/mL
Adult Dosing
- 50-100mg IM injection of testosterone and 2mg estradiol every 4 weeks
- Start at low dose and titrate as needed and tolerated
Pediatric Dosing
- Not recommended for use in pediatric patients
- Use only for confirmed hormone deficiency under strict medical supervision
Indications
- Treatment of primary or hypogonadotropic hypogonadism in adult men
- Palliative treatment of breast cancer in women
- Treatment of moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms in postmenopausal women
Mechanism of Action
- Testosterone: promotes development and maintenance of male reproductive organs
- Estrogen: regulates growth and development of female reproductive system
- Synergistic effect of both hormones promotes overall hormonal balance
Contraindications
- Known or suspected carcinoma of prostate or breast
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Severe liver dysfunction or active liver disease
Adverse Reactions
- Acne
- Weight gain
- Edema
- Hirsutism
- Mood changes
- Increased risk of thromboembolic events
Drug Interactions
- Warfarin: altered anticoagulant effect
- Insulin and oral hypoglycemic agents: altered glucose metabolism
- Antihypertensive agents: increased risk of hypertension
