Forms & Strengths
- Lynestrenol 1mg and Ethinyl Estradiol 0.01mg tablets
- Lynestrenol 1mg and Ethinyl Estradiol 0.02mg tablets
- Lynestrenol 2.5mg and Ethinyl Estradiol 0.025mg tablets
- Lynestrenol 2.5mg and Ethinyl Estradiol 0.05mg tablets
Adult Dosing
- 1 tablet daily for 21 days, then 7 days off
- Cycle repeats every 28 days
- Start on Day 1 of menstrual cycle or first Sunday after start of menses
Pediatric Dosing
- Not recommended for use before menarche
- Dosage not established for adolescents under 16 years

- Dysmenorrhea
- Menorrhagia
- Metrorrhagia
- Endometriosis
Mechanism of Action
- Lynestrenol inhibits ovulation by suppressing gonadotropin release
- Ethinyl Estradiol promotes endometrial growth and stability
- Combined effect prevents conception
Contraindications
- Pregnancy
- Breastfeeding
- Active liver disease
- History of thrombophlebitis or thromboembolic disorders
- Known or suspected estrogen-dependent tumors
Adverse Reactions
- Nausea and vomiting
- Dizziness
- Headache
- Breakthrough bleeding
- Weight gain
- Breast tenderness
Drug Interactions
- Anticonvulsants may decrease contraceptive efficacy
- Rifampin may decrease estrogen levels
- Troleandomycin may increase estrogen levels
- Atorvastatin may increase risk of thrombosis
