- Tablets: 0.5mg, 0.75mg, 1mg, 1.5mg, 2mg, 4mg, 6mg
- Oral solution: 0.5mg/5mL, 1mg/mL
- Injectable solution: 4mg/mL, 10mg/mL
- Intensol solution: 1mg/mL
Adult Dosing
- Allergic reactions: 1.5-9mg/day
- Asthma: 12-16mg/day
- Rheumatic diseases: 0.5-9mg/day
- Endocrine disorders: 0.5-2mg/day
Pediatric Dosing
- Allergic reactions: 0.02-0.3mg/kg/day
- Asthma: 0.08-0.3mg/kg/day
- Rheumatic diseases: 0.02-0.3mg/kg/day
- Newborns: 0.01-0.1mg/kg/day

Mechanism of Action
- Glucocorticoid receptor agonist
- Suppresses inflammatory and immune responses
- Inhibits cytokine production
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to dexamethasone
- Systemic fungal infections
- Intramuscular injection in idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura
Adverse Reactions
- Hyperglycemia
- Hypokalemia
- Hypertension
- Weight gain
- Cushingoid appearance
- Glaucoma
Drug Interactions
- CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g. ketoconazole, itraconazole) increase dexamethasone levels
- CYP3A4 inducers (e.g. phenytoin, carbamazepine) decrease dexamethasone levels
- Concomitant use with aspirin, NSAIDs increases risk of gastrointestinal ulcers
