Forms & Strengths
- Suspension for injection, various strengths
Adult Dosing
- 0.1-1 mL, IM or SC, single dose
Pediatric Dosing
- Same as adult dose, or according to vaccination schedule
Indications
- Active immunization against brucellosis
Mechanism of Action
- Stimulates production of antibodies against Brucella, enhancing immune response
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to vaccine components or previous dose
- Pregnancy, unless benefits outweigh risks
Adverse Reactions
- Pain, swelling, redness at injection site
- Fever, malaise, fatigue
- Rare: allergic reactions
Drug Interactions
- May interfere with results of tuberculin test
- Concurrent administration with other live vaccines not recommended
