Forms & Strengths
- injection: 500mg
- injection solution: 100mg/5mL
Adult Dosing
- intra-arterial: 0.1-0.6mg/kg/day for 7-14 days
- intravenous: 0.1-0.3mg/kg/day for 7-14 days
Pediatric Dosing
- limited data available
- intra-arterial: 0.1-0.6mg/kg/day for 7-14 days (used in some cases)

Indications
- palliative management of stomach and pancreatic cancer
- metastatic colorectal cancer
- other GI cancers (e.g. liver, bile duct)
Mechanism of Action
- inhibits thymidylate synthase
- interferes with DNA synthesis
- antimetabolite, primarily affects S phase of cell cycle
Contraindications
- severe bone marrow suppression
- myelosuppression
- hypersensitivity to floxuridine or fluorouracil
Adverse Reactions
- bone marrow suppression
- mucositis
- diarrhea
- nausea and vomiting
- hepatic dysfunction
Drug Interactions
- allopurinol: may increase toxicity
- warfarin: may increase anticoagulant effect
- leucovorin: may enhance efficacy but also increase toxicity
