Adult Dosing
- advanced CSCC: 350mg IV every 3 weeks
- advanced basal cell carcinoma: 350mg IV every 3 weeks
Pediatric Dosing
- safety and efficacy not established in pediatric patients
- use in pediatric patients not recommended
Indications
- treatment of metastatic cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (CSCC)
- treatment of locally advanced basal cell carcinoma
- treatment of recurrent basal cell carcinoma
Mechanism of Action
- blocks interaction between PD-1 and its ligands, PD-L1 and PD-L2
- activates immune response against tumor cells
- enhances T-cell activation and proliferation
Contraindications
- none known
- immunodeficiency or history of severe autoimmune disorders may increase risk
Adverse Reactions
- fatigue
- rash
- diarrhea
- pruritus
- nausea
- immune-mediated pneumonitis
- immune-mediated colitis
- immune-mediated hepatitis
Drug Interactions
- immunosuppressive agents may decrease cemiplimab efficacy
- systemic corticosteroids may decrease cemiplimab efficacy
