Forms & Strengths
- Oral solution: 400 mg / 7 mL
- Oral solution: 800 mg / 10 mL

Adult Dosing
- Acute phase: 800 mg twice daily for up to 2 weeks, or as prescribed
- Maintenance/Prophylaxis: 800 mg once daily for 60 days during intercritical periods
Pediatric Dosing
- Children > 3 years, Acute phase: 400 mg twice daily for up to 2 weeks
- Children > 3 years, Maintenance/Prophylaxis: 400 mg once daily for 60 days
Indications
- Immunostimulant used in the prevention of recurrent respiratory tract infections
- Adjuvant therapy in urinary tract infections and acute respiratory infections
Mechanism of Action
- Synthetic dipeptide with immunomodulatory properties
- Stimulates both innate and adaptive immune responses
- Enhances proliferation of lymphocytes, macrophage phagocytosis, and natural killer cell activity
- Increases secretory IgA levels in mucosal secretions
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to pidotimod or any of its excipients
- Severe renal impairment (safety and efficacy not established)
- Pregnancy and lactation (lack of sufficient clinical data)
Adverse Reactions
- Rare: Mild gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea)
- Rare: Skin rashes or allergic dermatitis
- Rare: Headache or dizziness
Drug Interactions
- No clinically significant pharmacokinetic drug-drug interactions identified to date
- May enhance the efficacy of antibiotic therapy when used adjunctively
