Adult Dosing
- 30 mg orally three times daily
Pediatric Dosing
- Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients not established
Indications
- Osteoarthritis
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Lumbago
Mechanism of Action
- Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2), reducing prostaglandin synthesis and subsequent inflammation and pain
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to pelubiprofen or other NSAIDs
- Active peptic ulcer disease or gastrointestinal bleeding
- Severe hepatic impairment
- Severe renal impairment
- Severe heart failure
- Third trimester of pregnancy
Adverse Reactions
- Dyspepsia
- Nausea
- Abdominal pain
- Dizziness
- Headache
- Increased ALT/AST
- Gastrointestinal ulceration
Drug Interactions
- Concomitant anticoagulants (increased bleeding risk)
- Other NSAIDs or salicylates (increased toxicity)
- ACE inhibitors or ARBs (decreased antihypertensive efficacy, increased renal impairment risk)
- Lithium (decreased renal clearance, increased toxicity)
- Methotrexate (increased hematologic toxicity)
