Forms & Strengths
- Delayed-release tablets: 375 mg naproxen and 20 mg esomeprazole
- Delayed-release tablets: 500 mg naproxen and 20 mg esomeprazole
Adult Dosing
- Osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis: 375-500 mg naproxen and 20 mg esomeprazole twice daily
- Juvenile idiopathic arthritis: not recommended
Pediatric Dosing
- Juvenile idiopathic arthritis in patients 12 years and older: 375-500 mg naproxen and 20 mg esomeprazole twice daily
- Safety and efficacy not established in patients under 12 years
Indications
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Osteoarthritis
- Ankylosing spondylitis
- Juvenile idiopathic arthritis in patients 12 years and older
Mechanism of Action
- Naproxen: Non-selective inhibition of cyclooxygenase-1 and cyclooxygenase-2, reducing prostaglandin synthesis
- Esomeprazole: Proton pump inhibitor, reducing gastric acid secretion
Contraindications
- Known hypersensitivity to naproxen, esomeprazole, or other NSAIDs
- Active gastrointestinal bleeding
- History of asthma, urticaria, or allergic reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs

- Abdominal pain
- Diarrhea
- Headache
- Nausea
- Dyspepsia
- Gastrointestinal bleeding
Drug Interactions
- Aspirin: Increased risk of gastrointestinal bleeding
- Warfarin: Increased risk of bleeding
- Lithium: Increased lithium levels
- Methotrexate: Increased methotrexate levels
- Cyclosporine: Increased cyclosporine levels
