Forms & Strengths

Adult Dosing
- 1 capsule or tablet orally 2 to 3 times daily after meals
- Short-term use recommended due to adverse effect profile
Pediatric Dosing
- Safety and efficacy not established in pediatric patients
- Not recommended for use in children
Indications
- Short-term management of acute painful musculoskeletal and joint disorders
- Inflammatory conditions associated with muscle spasm
Mechanism of Action
- Feprazone acts as a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis via cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibition
- Combination components may provide concurrent skeletal muscle relaxation or central analgesia
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to feprazone, phenylbutazone derivatives, or other NSAIDs
- Active peptic ulcer disease or history of gastrointestinal bleeding
- Severe hepatic, renal, or cardiac impairment
- History of asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAIDs
Adverse Reactions
- Gastrointestinal distress, nausea, dyspepsia, and peptic ulceration
- Central nervous system effects including dizziness, drowsiness, and headache
- Hypersensitivity skin reactions, rash, and pruritus
- Hematological abnormalities with prolonged use, including leukopenia or agranulocytosis
Drug Interactions
- Increased risk of gastrointestinal ulceration and bleeding with concurrent anticoagulants or other NSAIDs
- May enhance the hypoglycemic effects of sulfonylureas and the toxicity of methotrexate
- Potential decrease in the efficacy of antihypertensive agents and diuretics
