Forms & Strengths
- 10% lotion
- 25% lotion
- 25% cream
Adult Dosing
- Apply 25% lotion/cream to affected areas overnight under occlusive dressing
- Wash off in the morning, repeat for 2 weeks
Pediatric Dosing
- Not recommended for children under 6 months old
- For children over 6 months, apply 10% lotion under medical supervision
Indications
- Treatment of scabies
- Treatment of lice infestations
Mechanism of Action
- Inhibition of arthropod nervous system function
- Insecticidal and acaricidal effects
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to benzyl benzoate
- Pregnancy and lactation (caution advised)
Adverse Reactions
- Skin irritation
- Allergic dermatitis
- Urticaria
- Burning sensation
Drug Interactions
- None reported
- Concurrent use with other topical medicines may increase skin irritation risk
