R03AC19
Forms & Strengths
- Inhalation solution for Respimat™ inhaler, 5 µg per actuation (once‑daily)
- Inhalation solution for Respimat™ inhaler, 2.5 µg per actuation (used in fixed‑dose combo with tiotropium)
Adult Dosing
- Olodaterol 5 µg (one inhalation) once daily via Respimat® inhaler
- If used in fixed‑dose combo with tiotropium, olodaterol 2.5 µg + tiotropium 2.5 µg once daily

- Improves lung function and reduces symptoms in COPD when used alone or with long‑acting antimuscarinic agents
Mechanism of Action
- Selective, long‑acting β2‑adrenergic receptor agonist
- Stimulates adenylate cyclase → ↑cAMP → airway smooth‑muscle relaxation and bronchodilation
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to olodaterol or any excipients
- Use as monotherapy in asthma (LABA‑only therapy) is contraindicated
Adverse Reactions
- Tremor
- Headache
- Nasopharyngitis
- Cough or throat irritation
- Palpitations or tachycardia
- Hypokalemia
- Arrhythmias
- Paradoxical bronchospasm
Drug Interactions
- β‑blockers may attenuate bronchodilator response
- Concomitant sympathomimetics (e.g., epinephrine) may increase cardiovascular effects
- CYP2C8 inhibitors (e.g., gemfibrozil) can raise olodaterol plasma levels
- CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole) may increase exposure
- Additive bronchodilation when combined with other inhaled bronchodilators
