Forms & Strengths
- Tablet: 12.5 mg
- Tablet: 25 mg
- Chewable tablet: 25 mg
Adult Dosing
- Motion sickness: 25 mg to 50 mg orally 1 hour before travel, may repeat every 24 hours as needed
- Vertigo: 25 mg to 100 mg orally daily in divided doses
Pediatric Dosing
- Motion sickness (Children <12 years): Safety and efficacy not established
- Motion sickness (Children ≥12 years): 25 mg to 50 mg orally 1 hour before travel, may repeat every 24 hours
Indications
- Prevention and treatment of nausea, vomiting, and dizziness associated with motion sickness
- Management of vertigo associated with diseases affecting the vestibular system
Mechanism of Action
- H1-receptor antagonist with central anticholinergic activity
- Depresses labyrinthine excitability and conduction in the middle ear vestibular pathways
- Acts on the medullary chemoreceptor trigger zone to suppress nausea and vomiting
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to meclozine or any component of the formulation
- Known hypersensitivity to cyclizine derivatives

- Drowsiness
- Dry mouth
- Fatigue
- Headache
- Blurred vision
- Urinary retention
Drug Interactions
- Central nervous system depressants (e.g., alcohol, sedatives, tranquilizers, opioids) may potentiate sedation
- Anticholinergic drugs (e.g., tricyclic antidepressants, MAO inhibitors) may enhance anticholinergic side effects
