Forms & Strengths
- Ophthalmic solution: 0.24%
Adult Dosing
- Instill 1 drop into the affected eye(s) once daily
Pediatric Dosing
- Children >= 2 years: 1 drop into the affected eye(s) once daily
- Safety and efficacy not established in children < 2 years
Indications
- Treatment of itching associated with allergic conjunctivitis
Mechanism of Action
- Selective histamine H1-receptor antagonist
- Inhibits the release of histamine and inflammatory mediators from mast cells
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to cetirizine, hydroxyzine, or any component of the formulation
Adverse Reactions
- Instillation site pain/irritation
- Headache
- Somnolence
- Nasopharyngitis
Drug Interactions
- No clinically significant systemic drug interactions expected due to low systemic absorption from ophthalmic administration
