Adult Dosing
- Instill 1-2 drops into the affected eye(s) 3-4 times daily as needed for corneal disorders.
Pediatric Dosing
- Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients have not been established; use with caution and under specialist supervision.
Indications
- Treatment of corneal dystrophies
- Keratitis
- Corneal injuries and erosions
- Support of corneal epithelial healing
Mechanism of Action
- Acts as a purine nucleoside derivative that is a precursor of ATP, promoting cellular energy metabolism and supporting nucleic acid synthesis to accelerate tissue repair and regeneration in the corneal epithelium.
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to inosine or any component of the formulation
- Active purine-related metabolic disorders such as severe gout or hyperuricemia (systemic consideration)
Adverse Reactions
- Transient stinging or burning upon instillation
- Mild ocular irritation
- Allergic conjunctivitis or hypersensitivity reactions in rare cases
Drug Interactions
- No significant systemic drug interactions are expected from topical ophthalmic administration
- Concurrent use with other topical ophthalmic medications should be separated by at least 5-10 minutes to prevent washout effects
